Yesterday I read up on <Math Detective: Eureka! Eureka!>.

 어제 저는 <수학 탐정: 유레카! 유레카!>에 대한 글을 보았습니다.

First, I added an appendix to help readers understanding.

 먼저, 제 글을 보시는 여러분들을 위해 짧게 알려드립니다.

In short, it’s like as follows.

 간추려서 다음과 같은 이야기 입니다.

It’s about geometric problems in relation to volumes.

이 글은 부피에 대한 기하학 문제입니다.

There is a very strange person.

어떤 이상한 사람이 있습니다.  

He calls people he’s just met angel.

 그런데 그는 처음 보는 사람을 천사라고 불렀는데,

It has its own reason.

 거기에는 그럴만한 사연이 있었습니다.

He has his teacher.

 그에게는 스승이 있었습니다.

He has a world-famous mathematician as his teacher.

   그리고 그 스승은 세계적으로 알려진 수학자였습니다.

A king ruled; governed the country.

 그리고 그들이 사는 곳을 어떤 왕이 다스리고 있었는데

The king and the mathematician are friends.

 그 왕은 그 수학자와 친구였습니다.

One day the king has a blacksmith make a crown, providing the ingredient.

 어느날 왕이 어느 대장장이를 불러 재료를 주며 왕관을 만들게 했습니다.

However, there is a rumor circulating that the blacksmith played the hypocrite to deceive the king.

 그런데 그 대장장이가 왕을 속였다는 소문이 돌았습니다.

The king ordered his friend to determine whether (or not) the rumor is true.

 왕은 수학자 친구에게 그 진위를 가려내라고 했습니다.

Trying to solve the problem, the mathematician is too nervous to eat.    

 그 문제를 푸르느라 그 수학자는 제대로 먹지도 못했습니다.

I think this is an adaptation of the story of Archimedes Principle.

 저는 이 이야기가 아르키메데스 원리에 얽힌 이야기를 각색했다고 봅니다.

Don’t you think so?

 그렇지 않습니까?

And it is well-adapted for the modern society.

그리고 이 시대에 맞게 잘 짜여졌다고 봅니다.   

What a relief!

 천만 다행이 아닐 수 없습니다.

Imagine my embarrassment upon seeing his naked body, shouting “Eureka, Eureka.”

 ‘유레카, 유레카’라고 외치는 그 왈몸을 봤을 때 얼마나 당황했을지 생각해 보십시오.

Anyway I have been anxiously waiting for the next story.

 아무튼 저는 다음 이야기를 목 빠지게 기다리고 있습니다.

For your information(FUI), Guass was a German scientist and mathematician.

참고로, 가우스는 독일에서 과학자이며 수학자입니다.

He worked in a wide variety of fields in both mathematics and physics.

그는 수학과 물리학을 폭넓게 연구했습니다.

It is just a matter of time untl you crak the code.

여러분이 이 문제를 푸는 건 식은 죽 먹기입니다.

1+100=101,

2+99=101 ………………………………..

일 더하기 백은 백 일, 이 더하기 구십구도 백 일………………………

In this way, you can get 50 couples of 101.

이런 식으로 해서 백 일 오십 묶음이 나올 겁니다.

Just multiply 101 by 50, and the answer is 5050.

그리고 백 일을 오십과 곱해서 답은 오천 오십입니다.

How amazing!
